Kendwa Rocks is located on Kendwa Beach on the Northwest Coast of Zanzibar.
The Hotel is about one hour drive from Zanzibar Town towards the Northern tip of the Island.The road descends through Kendwa village towards one of the most fantastic beaches of East Africa.
Just opposite you can see the lighthouse of nearby Tumbatu Island.
The rooms at Kendwa Rocks are designed to suit different needs. Most have wonderful views towards the beach, but also the ones with garden view are also popular.
The rooms are in six categories:
North & South Wing-stand on the higher coral rock formation and their spacious verandas command views over the beach towards the Island of Tumbatu.
Suites- They are our largest rooms, luxury for two honeymooners and good for a family.
Upstairs Rooms- They are also good for honeymooners and the big verandas command wonderful views over the whole site.
Africa Rooms – These three rooms are overlooking the upper garden with a small fountain at the centre.
Coral Stone Bungalows -They are surrounded by the lush, exotic gardens. They are furnished with authentique Zanzibari antiques and decorated mosquito nets. The bungalows are named after the Southern African countries.
Coconut Wood Bungalows-They are situated right on the white sand. The wooden interior creates a warm and cosy atmosphere. All have wonderful sea views.
Bandas-They are built with palmwood and palmleaves and have shared bathroom facilities.
Restaurant specializes in Swahili and Indian ocean kitchens, but the chefs master a wide range of dishes from all over the world. Seafood is naturally the focus, but beef and chicken are available and vegetarians haven’t been forgotten either. They have a pizza oven and also a sushi menu.
Mermaid Bar is a perfect spot for admiring the glowing sunsets. It serves African beers and wines, a variety of exotic cocktails and fruit juices. Pool table is there and board games as well as African bao game.
